lost inside

last night i was walking just off a main intersection downtown
i saw a guy i know
standing
on the corner
he looked at me and i said hello
i thought it was funny that he didn't hear me
so sure i was that he had seen me

tonight i realized that he had been working
as in,
the streets
life is fucked up
